Gate to trigger on pitch range?

Conceptually what I'd like is a plugin I can put on a bus that mutes the bus unless certain notes in a certain pitch range are detected. I can pull this off with EQs or by creating envelopes around the specific parts I want sent to the bus, but a dedicated plugin would make things easier/quicker. Does anyone know if such a plugin exists? Does anyone else have a similar need for one?

I tried searching for this on google but the trouble is I'm not sure what you'd call such a thing... some combination of pitch + trigger + gate + plugin.

Gates sometimes have key filtering built in, eq that operates on the signal going to the detector circuit to make the gate more sensitive to some frequencies than others. For example: Golden Audio Gate VST Plugin Free
