Garbled sounding audio (Windows 7 & Firepod)

I'm running a Presonus FirePod on a Acer Apire 7720 laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate. I'm using Sony Vegas as my DAW software. I'm getting garbled sounding audio. It sounds as if everything is distorted and jumbled. I double-checked the audio properties in Vegas and it was set to FirePod ASIO and the control panel of the FirePod was set to 44.1 k and 2.0 ms latency.

I'm running the old XP/Vista driver for Firepod as the new Firepod/FP10 driver (for XP/Vista/Win 7) didn't work for me.

Anyone have any suggestions on what to do here?
 
Garbled Audio, I hear you fully on this one

I don't know Kelhard, I'm having the same problem. I have a new computer with w7. The firepod always worked grand on the previous laptop, but exactly as you say, its garbled, no matter what I have tried, it is distorted and is really annoying. I have trie the new drivers from presonus, but they are no good either. I don't know, and it would be great to hear an answer to this. Unless it is something to do with the firewire driver. I just don't know, Sorry can't help, if I find out I'll be sure to post it.
