garbled audio

I've had some success with CW in the past, but am still pretty new to it for the most part. Last night when I tried to record and playback audio, it was like my whole system bogged down: the midi tracks (which were otherwise playing and recording smoothly) slowed and stumbled and the audio was a slow garbled mess that was barely recognizable. Even when I opened a new project and recorded one audio track by itself, it did the same thing(?)

I have a new computer and, after scouring the CW help files, I found that my soundcard is sharing an IRQ with 2 other devices. Could this be the answer or does the problem sound familiar enough to anyone that you could tell me what else I may be doing wrong? HELP!?! Thanks.

IRQ 2 is a rather strange IRQ for a sound card to be occupying. IRQ 5 is your best choice if it is available. If the device is plug/n/play you should trying going into ControlPanel/System/Device manager, check properties on the card, go to Resources, and remove "Use automatic setting". Change the IRQ numbber, click OK etc and reboot. Then try again.

had the same problem only one time goto option audio hit wave profiler that should solve the problem i hope.
