Within the first year or so of doing business with these guys, I was absolutely pleased. My catalogs were priority mailed! An my salesman knew a helluva lot, really! The beat any price I asked by 10% and were always extremely fast with inquiries via email and phone. So, 'bout 6 months ago, my salesman transferred to computer audio and I was left with another guy. I must have sent him a thousand EMails and left a dozen phone messages, but there was nuthin!!!!! Now Im pissed!!!! I'm not sure whether to be mad @ FullCompass or just the salesman..

Anyone with any similar experiences???

Hi CJ,
Call them and ask to speak to your old Sales rep(ask for him by Name-if he's not in, leave a message for him to E-mail you or call you)-then ask Him to suggest a Saleman with Similar work ethics!
Tell him whats up, and that you're really unhappy with the situation.
I've had to deal with this in the past, and it's easy-they either make you happy, or you go somewhere else.
Then ask for the Manager, and tell them that you would like so and so, because he was suggested to you "by a friend"-and if they don't come through for you-call them back, tell them that you're taking your business elsewhere, and tell them why!
They'll get the point really quickly.
Remember, they are in this to make money, and in most cases that means they'll find you a salesperson who will work with you.

I wound up finding a local place that essentially does the exact same thing -but it's a walk in business.
The've even let me have stuff at cost on a Cash and carry basis!
I got a pair of Electrovoice Drives for less than HALF of what Veneman's wanted-and Veneman's had one of the cheapest prices on these Horn Drivers!!
So, check around in your local Yellow pages for professional Audio Dealers, Sound Systems Installations-all that kind of stuff; you'll be surprised at what is local-I know I sure was!
Hell, There's even a company here in my town that actually MAKES speakers! ( I never knew it until I was looking to get a speaker reconed one day.)

boy, there are so many crap stores, whether physical or on the net. is there any place that doesn't suck?

I live in Madison (where Full Compass is located) and I've had GREAT luck with them. They can really bend over backward to make you happy if you talk to the right person. I'll agree with you, however, that there are some real morons who work there too. Anyone who works there would admit as much... but do you know ANY store ANYWHERE where that's not the case?

The key is to find a sales guy who knows you and stick with him. I get some pretty hefty discounts because I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars at Full Compass over the past 10 years. They definitely give me the personal touch.

My only dealings with Full Compass was half satisfactory - but they really pissed me off, too!! I ordered two separate items from them, costing about $150 each. I received one item fairly quickly and the invoice listed the other item as a back order, which surprized me since their web site listed it as in stock. In fact, that was the only reason I ordered from them because, at the time, all of the other big net stores listed the item as not in stock. That was bad enough, but wait!! THERE'S MORE!! When I got my Mastercard bill, they BILLED me for the back ordered item. I called FUll Compass to point out their obvious error and a manager told me that it was their policy to bill you anyways on back order items. I asked when I was going to receive the item and was told that they were not due to receive any from the manufacturer for another two or three months!! (What's wrong with this picture??!!?) I told the dude that it was my "policy" to not do business with any place that would have that as a policy and to cancel my order immediately and credit my Mastercard account. He seemed puzzled as to why I would worry about a little thing like them keeping my money for three months, but he did cancel my order and I got my credit within about a week. I doubt if I will do business with them again.
