FT/FS: Beyerdynamic MC740

Ended up with three of these in the course of my gear slutting these past few weeks, so one has to go.

5 pattern LDC. Some highly regarded pros have likened to a U67 on vocals (I don't know, as I don't own a 67!) There's actually a little information on this mic in this forum, believe it or not! I believe it's pretty much all complimentary too...

This is s/n #17845. It's a more recent model, made after 1990.

Absolutely excellent cosmetic condition and fully functional. Comes with clip and tensimount shock mount. Looks great, sounds great, what more could you want?

Would sell outright, but thinking I might like to trade it for something. If anyone out there has interest in this and has something they'd trade, drop me a line. Mics primarily, but would consider other stuff as well.

no one here wants to upgrade to a superb vocal mic, eh?

BTW, sounds outstanding as a room mic too.

All reasonable trade or cash (or both) offers considered.

Folks like Michael Wagener can't be wrong... :D

Neumann and Beyerdynamic shared space and R&D facilities prior to Sennheiser buying the name in 1991. I believe the capsule is the same.

Obviously the electronics are not. However, it is a transformer based LDC. If you like that "transformer sound" (I do), this mic has it.

Not much info about these mics out there. Here's some more

I'm fairly open, so feel free to PM me directly with what you have to offer. It's an extra that won't get much use (I'm keeping two of them) so I'm happy to trade it for random stuff that might be useful to me in some way.

It's a 24 bit FLAC file, split omni, recorded this past Tuesday night at a multitrack gig I had (the sample is the mics only - no editing in post or anything, just the raw tracks into a Mackie Onyx 800R)

All I have that I could trade right now is a hand racked pair of Trident Fleximix channel strips with power supply.....
