Are these faders motorized or do they start writing once you pass the previously set level?

They are not motorized and pretty much the other. This unit belonged to a friend of mine who used it in Adobe Audition 1.5, and it worked well for him. I do not know how it reacts in other DAWs. He has upgraded his system and no longer needs the Tascam.
