I'm cleaning out the closet. This is some of the gear I started with when I got a bit more seroius about recording (beyond the 4-track and Radio Shack mics). As such, I'd love to see this stuff go to a newbie or younger musician/recording enthousiast. So I have two prices here, one for anybody who can email picture of a student ID and a price for everyone else.

MXL 900 - New Condition, rarely used. Student ID Price - SOLD

Shure KSM27 - Used but worked awesome, with shockmount. Student ID Price - SOLD.

AKG C2000B - New Condition, used only a little. In hard case with shockmount. Student ID Price - SOLD

Presonus BlueTube Preamp - older design but kept in box and in new condition. Manual and power supply. SOLD

I"ll ship on your dime of course. PayPal is probably the easiest. Be happy to discuss "package" deals too.

I'm trusting everybody not to borrow their nephew's Jr. High ID to take advantage of what I hope is a nice gesture to help out a younger member of the board.

Tell you what I'll take the KSM27. That is if a member here at HR doesn't want it.
He is Dodgeaspen. I know that he was looking for a pair but if he wants this one let him have it and if he doesn't I'll take it.
 
Does eight years working on my second masters degree qualify as a student?
 
I was originally going to thank you for letting me buy one but settled for my previous post instead.
 
I still have my old University of Minnesota ID from 1967 around here somewhere. Would that work? ;)

Only if all of the info like weight,hair is the same. And you look exactly like that picture. :laughings:

I know if I were to travel back in time to visit myself 50 years ago ..... I would scare the SH!T out of my younger self!! :eek:
 
So it looks like all is spoken for except the Presonus and the MXL.

I'd be inclined to do a smokin' package deal if somebody wanted both units ;)

So I guess Dodgeaspen is going to take the KSM27
He has none and I've got a bunch ..... now he'll have one!
 
If nobody buys that Presonus in the next couple of weeks, I'll grab it but I'd much rather see the next newbie who asks about affordable preamps, steered towards this thread.
 
just curious...

this may sound ridiculous since I don't know much, but a friend of mine told me that tube preamps give a better quality of sound...
I just use a line 6 UX2 as my interface (which comes with virtual preamp sounds) and just wondering if it is possible to connect a preamp using the ux2?
and would it be a big difference in sound quality of the mic using the real one vs virtual line6 preamps?

and also, how would the mxl 990 compare to the apex645? (in terms of vocals and acoustic guitar)
 
nutz, i meant apex435;;; I can't even get my own mic correct!!!
