MATCHED pair of Neumann KM85i cardioid studio microphones - $1650US
Taken from my matched QUAD set, up for auction is a MATCHED pair of Neumann KM85i cardioid studio microphones (Serial numbers: #35323 and #45529) and a hand-made vintage wooden case – genuine 1970’s maple. The wooden case is optional if you only prefer the microphones – there is no price difference, except on the overall shipping price.
The complete QUAD set have just been fully restored and serviced by the legendary Gunter Wagner (of Wagner Microphones) here in Sydney, Australia.
From Gunter; “I have now completed work on your 4x KM85 microphones. As mentioned in our telephone conversation, the four capsules perform nearly identical, so to match all four mics I only had to slightly tweak the internal amps. Also I re-biased the FET's of all four microphones to get maximum headroom.
You can now use all mics as a fully matched group of four. Best matched pair is #35323 and #45529, but the differences to the other two mics are only marginal as you can see in the attached spectrum plot. Overall output level differences between all four mics are less than 1dB.”
“PERFECTLY MATCHED and BIASED” NEUMANN KM85i condenser microphones in great condition!
-12dB roll-off at 50Hz
-10dB switch
XLR connector
Requires 48V Phantom Power
FANTASTIC looking and PERFECTLY working! One (#45529) has had a new Neumann badge replaced when serviced.
Minor cosmetic wear, as expected for 40year old microphones.
The capsule is CARDIOID pattern.
