Here's the deal - I'm about to graduate college and want to upgrade to SX3. My copy of SL3 is the academic version, which I bought new 1 year ago.

I think SL3-SX3 upgrade from Steinberg is about as much as the cheapest deal on a full version of SX3, so I'm going to sell SL3 and buy SX3 new.

Whoever buys this must be a student, work for a school, or be of military service.

There's a $50 registration transfer. However, the software is registered under my name, and if you want to just use it as is and save some dough, that's fine by me.

Comes in original box with CDs, dongle, manual.

I'm looking for $120 or best offer.

But if someone changes the registration to their name, would you still be allowed to get the upgrade?

I'm not going to buy the SX3 upgrade as the full retail version of SX3 is not much more than the official upgrade from Steinberg.

I have a good friend (with a sweet studio) in Raleigh that I've been trying to talk into buying one of the lesser expensive (used) versions of Cubase so we can easily swap projects to work on long distance.

Is there any way you can help him around the 'academic' part of getting this up and running if I talk him into to buying it? He's not a student, prof., etc.

Get him to enrol in a course :p

I'm probably going to be selling a Cubase SX3 with retail box and dongle. I was thinking $350 which includes shipping and license transfer to you. Let me know if you are interested.

In this case, I wouldn't mind selling my registration to your friend. I don't think he would be able to acquire a new registration with Steinberg. However, the software will be fully eligble for all product rebates and support. Just think of it as my copy of the software on his computer that he can use forever.

Have your friend email me at mrbowes !at! gmail !.! com

I'll call him today and see if he's interested. Thanks.

I'm sure there's someone who could use this software. For the money, it's a great way to learn the Cubase/Nuendo environment.

the studio i just left may be selling a never used sx. i opened the box to get the manual is all. if yer interested - let me know.

well, as long as SE is like SX and works with mac, if you could just confirm that for me.

This is SL, not SE. SE is more limited than SL.

Work-flow wise, SL and SX are identical - the navigation, controls, etc are all the same.

SX has delay compensation for outboard fx (which you can still do with SL it's just more of a pain), and a few more technical bells and whistles (none of which I ever used).

There's a nice spreadsheet that has a list of features for SE/SL/SX - I'll look it up when I get home from work, and I'll respond to your PM then too.

Thanks.
