Hi Mick, congratulations on what you've accomplished (so far) ... recordings, youtube presence, website, gigs, etc - (I especially like "Calvary Street"). I applaud your perseverance, your willingness to ask for help & your "good attitude" even when someone offers criticism that may not be particularly kind - all that - my thoughts on doing gigs ... first, I believe one of the components of a successful business (and that is what you are btw - a business) is consistency - so, yes you NEED gigs and a consistent one ... my suggestion: get a local gig at an area club/pub/anywhere someone will allow you to play - don't worry about the money right now, play for FREE if you have to, but play because you love it ... and do it CONSISTENTLY (for example: every thursday night for 2 months at the same place/same time). Utilize this gig to help your career in several areas.1) it gives you actual "shows / tour schedule" to list on you fb page, website, etc 2). sell merchandise at your gig / if you don't have any merch - come up with a few items at different price points from something you give away to t-shirts & more. 3). video tape your gigs and post the "best of" on your youtube channel 4) invite popular local "guest artists" to join you for a few tunes (hopefully pulling some of their crowd to your gigs / youtube channel) 5). and perhaps most importantly, acquire EMAIL addresses of patrons that stop in to see you perform, this is modern day music business "gold" ... then "work" that email list sending monthly (remember consistency) email newsletters to your friends and fans on your ever expanding email list - there's lots more to share, but I hope this helps! best wishes! -pp

glad to help mick! please let me know how this works for you - ok? best! -pp
