Ahoy,

I am just getting started, but have run into some hair-wrenchingly frustrating issues!

I am currently running a brand spanking version of cubase studio 4 on a reliable PC, recording via a yamaha MW10 usb mixer. There are currently no specific motherboard drivers installed, as I recenty formatted and re-installed windows. I haveinstalled the latest ASIO driver for the MW10 mixer.

NOW, the problem.

When I monitor or record in cubase, I get a low level, very high pitched noise, a relatively clear tone around 15k but with noise associated. It is doing my head in. I have tried turning OFF all windows sound, changing USB port evening changing the mixer power supply, but the sound is still there!

Please...HELP ME!!!!

Desmond:eek:

Is the noise recorded onto the track?

Do you hear it when playing back wavs, or only when recording?

I hear it when I turn on the "monitor" function in cubase (routing the inputs through the software and back out the speakers), and it also records onto the track, as I am painfully aware because a parametric EQ at -10db at around 15k removes it almost completely!
