The other thing with myspace is just because someone adds you as a friend doesn't nessisarily mean they're a fan.. or even have bothered to listen to your music.. It's a popularity contest for a lot of people.. or bands add other bands so that you can listen to THEM. But for ever 10 friend adds there must a few who will actually take the time to listen to your stuff..

I was uploading some stuff yesterday.. (still fighting a bit for quality but I'll have to do a seperate "myspace mix" and our stuff still isn't mastered either so that may make a difference)

anyways as i was working on our myspace we had over 40 listens (in the span of maybe 40 minutes) it was kinda crazy.. but then nothing and so far today maybe 2 hits i think.. out of all those hits though there were no new friend requests thus leading me to believe no real "fans"

if you work hard at it or luck out myspace can be a great tool. Either way i can't really see it as a negative thing (horrible streaming quality aside)

Myspace adds some type of bass enhancement to the mp3. It can make a good mix sound boomy and a muddy mix sound like complete shit. You might try rolling off some lows when you make the Myspace mp3. I need to experiment with that next time I upload some songs.

holy shit .... more myspace issues.. now it won't let me upload anything... every time i upload an mp3 it ends up saying "error/delete and retry" doesn't matter how i encode the mp3 either...

sound system

do you listen to myspace on the same system you mix on ?

obvious i know but hey worth a try !
