I have been trying so hard to understand the MIDI parameters in the reference guides of my musical instruments; ALESIS QS6.1 and Groovebox 303.
I continue to have the same results when I try to record multiple tracks using both instruments.
I just want to use the drums from the groovebox, and the sounds from Alesis.
I am able to control the groovebox with the software, but every time I record a music part, for any channel other than 10, the same keys play on the drum machine!!
I have tried almost every way possible including the suggestions from other sites.
Is it possible that I cannot turn off the other channels on the groovebox? Is it possible to send MIDI messages to all other channels not to play anything?

Thanx

You may want to try this workaround. I have a similar problem with my midi controller.

Power down your puter with your groovebox still connected to your midi in/out. restart your computer & boot up cubase. select your midi track. right click at the top of the inspector & select patchname & bank. Select the appropriate Out, bank & patchname in the inspector. I'm not sure if this answers your ? but when I am having probs this seems to always work. Also in the options/midi setup/system from your dropdown box, make sure that your groovebox is selected as an input.

I'm real new at this, but i hope this is good advice
