fruity loops mixer problem

This may sound like a dumb question, but I've had FL studio for some time now, and whenever I want to add effects I can never figure out how to put effects on certain tracks or patterns, I can only figure out how to put them on the entire mix. Can someone please inform me on how to put effects on certain patterns or tracks?
 
Heres what your missing...

What you wanna do is click on the channel the effect is to be applied to. In the box that pops up there should be a number in the upper right. Drag that to whatever. Then go into the fx controls. Put on the effects on the same number that you changed the one in the box to. Default fx channel is 1 so I would move to 2 or higher. Just make sure the numbers correspond to eachother.
