Hi, my cousin let me try out his fruity loops. I want to record vocals and guitar into fruity loops and then add drums, when I try to change the input of the mixer, my input isn't there. It says the input needs to be ASIO. I use an M-audio mobilepre which is compatible with ASIO 2. What seems to be the problem?

Fruity Loops isn't tracking software. I don't think you can record vocals and guitar in there...

Wav

Purge is right. But you can export to .wav! Warning though, if you record in Acid you might want to change your FL clip from 'Loop' to 'Single Shot' under the Properties tab. That one threw me for awhile.

Yes you can track/record stuff in FruityLoops. It is however mainly a sequencing toy, not a DAW, although it's speedily getting more and more features, and will probably end up competing with the real DAWs soon.

I have however noticed that almost all who are using FruityLoops do it becuase they have never tried anything else. ;) The same goes for Cubase, btw. :p

So what is an easy program to make good drum loops, and synth stuff with guitar and vocals?

Most programs have demos available. Try out Tracktion, N-track, Ableton Live, Protools Free, Cakewalk and Cubase. I sure I missed some.

I have ableton live, it came with my mobile pre. But that one seems to be doing the same thing. there must be something i'm not doing right here.

Then your mobilepre isn't configured correctly. Talk to M-audio.
