I exported my tracks from cubase using the export selected tracks feature. I am wondering if Pro Tools has a feature to import those tracks using the XML file that cubase created for all the individual track details. The purpose being a buddy who is going to do the mixing runs pro tools and where i was recording was using cubase. I have been looking in pro tools forumns but can't seem to find an answer. Thanks.

Sorry you will have to export them as waves, Pro Tools does not reconize Cubase sessions.

each individual file is a .wav but i am assuming you cannot use the xml file for the timecode, etc.... is that correct?
thanks

no, you can't
Pro Tools will be able to open OMF or AAF files, but only if your friend has that feature

I don't use Cubase, but do you have a option that exports .wav files beginning at 0:00:00, whether the track comes in at the beginning or not?
If you can make all the .wav files start from the beginning (or the same spot), it's very easy to import in Protools. The File>import files to tracks function will make a new track for each file, even name it for you.

Very handy when doing things like the Public Mix Contests in the MP3 clinic :D
