Fretless Bass in the mix

Any suggestions for best ways to sit a frettless bass in the mix? It seems to get burried or muddy. Too much bottom.
The song is folk rock.. 2 Acoustic guitar-drums-piano

Thanks. I am using WAVES Mod for chorus. it sounds nice. The issue is that it is not defined in the mix. Muddy.
I cut below 45 and slight mid cut also.. Helps a bit but not quite there.
I tired compression...I actually used a Waves L2 after the chorus and EQ..seems to help a bit...Generally I place comp first but inthis case it works better as last effect in my chain EQ>CHORUS>L2
