I know this is a Hip Hop thread, but if y'all don't mind can I get some reviews on 2 of my R&B jointz. Check "Yearnin" and "Thank God for Music" (hit the link in my sig)

Damn! I feelin that "Thank god for music". Can't say more... Mix is nice and all....

Like Yearnin' also. Not as complete as "Thank god for music", but see where it's going. On the vocals, she could be a little louder and confidant. On the ad-libs on the hook she could really let it go and finish up the song at the end. Yhaaaaaa! :D
Who wrote the verses? You got something going on... :D

"SAY IT" this is a cool song but to me can sound better if you switch your drum kit from dance to 808. you got BIG GIP on the song! Damn Playboy you are doing it.

"THANK GOD FOR MUSIC" this is just bangin, i don't know what to say about this. the singer(s) CAN SING! and harmonize together

"YEARNIN" HOT! good melody, good singing, good production

"TABLES TURN" nice beat but if i'm not mistakened you chopped up Free Way's song right?

"RAINBOW" THIS IS HOT!!!!!!

EDIT: i realized that you put your beat to some acapellas

I think i commented on the other songs in another post. keep up the good job fam.

EDIT: i realized that you put your beat to some acapellas and the professional recording of those vox made the beat stand out compared to the trace's vox on the beat he's featured on. i'm not knocking the song, i'm just saying that quality recordings make a MAJOR difference.

I appreciate the review Cross. Thanks for taking the time.

That's a good idea for the drums on "Say It", and actually that wasn't Gipp, it was one of my groups Tha Upfront Boiz. I guess you see who their influences are.

"Thank God for Music" is this artist named Keys, we tryin' to get him a deal. Hopefully it'll pop off soon.

"Yearnin" was written by my peeps James Terry. It's just one of the songs we tryin' to move to an established artist

"Tables Turn" was actually a chop from Tom Brock, who did the sample from "Girls, Girls, Girls"

Most of them were recorded at my spot, but "Time to See" with Trace was recorded when I was in Landover.

All the recordings with vocals are really nice. The thank god for music stands out the most. Maybe you should put some credits on thier because that's a pro quality sounding song. I would do that just in case some one does come snooping around they would know as much about the songs as possible.

Yearnin needs something to come up in the melody because the female vocals stand out to much in the mix. Still sounds nice but not the same as Thank god for music.

What I'm wondering is where are the LP's for these artist man. YOu got a nice sound are they still in the works or what? I have a problem gettin my LP's because I'm just not that savy when it comes to the internet but would be nice to hear more stuff from your artist.

man, those guys have a lot of talent. what ever your formula is for all of those songs minus the Trace song sounds really good to me, maybe it's because his vox sounded too upfront to me. the song is good but his vox just didn't blend well with the rest of the song. keep up the good work!

All I can say is....DAMN go head now.

I could easily ride to Thank God for Music

I do agree that Trace's vocals come out too strong

I have nothing to say..

everyone else said it all....real tight work...keep it up..peace out
