Okay, here is a collection of screen shots showing my EQ and compressor settings from that last tune, and also a shot of the console view.
If the plug-ins aren't too self explanatory let me know, I'm just used to looking at them. :D

looks like I will have to do this a few at a time! :D

and last time...
I had to shrink down the console view to get it to a suitable size for uploading. Hopefully it is still readable. Not shown on here is that I bussed the kick, snare and toms to a second track where I compressed them heavily and added that into the mix to beef it up. Also, it may be evident in the screen shots, but I bussed the Toms together and applied EQ and compression to them all instead of individually. That seems to work okay for me, might not be everybody's favorite way to do it.
Anyway, hope this helps man!

Thanks man, I will give some of those Eq curves a try once I get some free time this weekend.

This is fucking rocking Wireneck. I'm lovin' every minute of this. This song has haunting melodies that remind me of Opeth and certain parts that remind me of Dark Moor. I listened on both my headphones and my monitors - great use of reverb. What reverb unit or plugin do you use? If you got this mastered it would sound very similar to an early Opeth album.

It almost makes me sad that I'll never play metal this well, but at the same time it makes me happy that someone, somewhere is still making great metal music.

Keep it up Wireneck!

Fattmusiekthank you for the kind words. I would be lying if I said that Opeth was not a major influence. I am glad you like what you hear.
The verbs on the electric leads are the waves Supertaps. The drums are using the waves Rverb (i think). The acoustics are using Steinbergs Natural Verb (wavelab).
thanks again for listening.

Geet73 thanks for the comments.

I can't say it's a dramatic improvement over the other version, as It was damn fine also. I love the guitar tone you've chosen. Very nice. Very controlled. It's heavy, without being overbearing. Actually, all the music seems to flow together very well. None of the dynamics is ever buried by any other sound. And playing is extremely cool. Nice tune.

Great stuff, I really like the guitar work on this track. It's definately a good mix. Almost reminds me of some Megadeth style riffs, alot of their rhythems were noty and such, which was awsome... Also has an older Ozzy style to it with the clean guitar, maybe something like Killer of Giants sounding. Is this one going to stay instrumental?

Dogman thanks for the repeat listen. Trying to keep it balanced with so many things going on at once was a huge challenge. I am happy with it for the most part, as with anything, it could always be better.

MonkeyManx thanks for listening. This stuff is instrumental at the moment but if the right vocalist turns up, we cerainly would not turn them down. Its just tough finding someone who can sing clean as well as do the death growl thing.
