Free plug-ins

Does anyone know of any free plug-ins that are similar to the
Waves comp-gate plug-in so I can have key input mode set to "Left to Right" and trigger a track from another track?

It sounds like you're looking for a sidechain compressor/gate:

I haven't used it, but it might be worth a shot.
