everyone needs to hang around slashdot a bit more... for the simple reason that you all need to be able to recognize a troll (listed for education purposes only - remember trolls live everywhere) when you see one, and this thread has become a classic flame war (what trolls specialize in).

a know its a little late to still post in this useless thread, but my original point was: if you plan on making money on these DVD's (and youre bound to if you sell more than you have before), then in all fairness you should give a little bit to those who helped you, (thats why i mentioned 'points', in case you cant afford it up front) and if you make money and dont give any to those who help you out then thats just ... sleazy/greedy production, and not something i would want to be part of ....

I couldn't agree more...it's more than a little arrogant to assume that you are doing everyone a favour. Don't forget that, on the net, you could be anyone and remain practically anonymous. There are many rich people out there that get to where they are by using others. Sorry, but regardless of how concise your original post was you have acted like an arse ever since.
By the way, and not meaning to start another argument, but I realise that most of you in here are American. Do you realise how sublimely ironic it is for us Brits to watch you Yanks have a set-to about spelling? (It seems that most of your spelling is dictated by Microsoft and only barely resembles the actual English language that we loaned to you - only for you to later break it!)

I get to use my music, and anyone elses thats interested, its a fucking win -win situation, I get some cool tunes for my vids, and the artists get some exposure in the form of mtv-style pop up credits when the tune plays, and post credits at the end of the vid.......you tell me where Im doing something wrong, and then tell all the artists FROM THIS SITE, that have offered me tunes how fucking wrong i am.

If I had the means to compose for a soundtrack at the expense of exposure of my work... I’d go for it in a heartbeat! An impressive résumé has to start somewhere. But then again, some people actually do make a living composing music and are in fact building their own résumé which in turn only validates the type of mindset of 'I'm a business man first- musician/composer second.' I can see both sides!

How many positive responses have you had so far from members of this board? I really would like to know that much...nothing more really.
K...so let me get this straight.
You want me to give you something for free and you're going to insult if I ask you to share the love. umm...yea...right.
Freind...you had something going at first. Be aware that there's a lot of good music out there that isn't on a major record label...A LOT! Exposure is always good...even if there isn't a $$ payout. But something is in order...there's the music creation (you can't do it), there's the playing (you can't do it), there's the recording (doubt you can do it)...it's worth something...don't you think!Then somewhere along the way you took it upon yourself to insult the creative community as a whole all while asking for hand-outs.
Oh, before I forget, I have to interject this...my brother owns a bike shop...location, location, location...it applies in your biz too. He's cleaning up and he has a limited education. What's your deal...simple learned skills, know the product, know the customer base, establish in a location where these two converge and get to know the clientel.
K...moving on...I seriously thought about hooking you up with a few of my students but I'm thinking they could do better. Seriously, we've got a craft fair in the park in October. The kids will get free access to the venues and lunch. There will be three place winners,...first place gets a a $50 gift certificate to a local restaurant and a 4 hour recording session here at the SPL studios.
What do we get for putting up with your insults?...Assume the position Mr. Help Me Because I Can't Run a Business and I need Free Promotional Material , I'll Take Anything, Because I'm too Cheap to Pay for It!
I almost wonder if there's something else going on here...maybe this is a complete ruise...I get it, you're a wanna be too only you're worse than those you insult! You're looking for free creative material because you can't work it up yourself.
Seriously, like I said before...when you first started off, I thought hey...here's a neat idea but about into your third post...I was thinking what a jerk. Maybe that's why you're hanging here jawjacking wasting valuable time when you could be sharing the love of your sport/hobby or what ever...you're socially unacceptable...that's your thing...am I right? (rhetorical btw...I don't really care what you think)
In closing, I sincerly hope you expend a lot of mental energy no matter how limited your resources may be considering a response. Rest assured, no matter how hard you struggle to work up yet another insult, I won't give you the time of day nor a response. Be gone,...I've dismissed you. I've been given suggestion by a valued commrade to stop feeding the Troll...I take this as excellent advice.
