Nice idea!! I have the dmp3 so not adding myself to the raffle.. but just wanted to pipe in to say nice!

Also what is the voting based on?
I want songs/lyrics/pics.. something creative to base my vote on! :D

I think this is an awesome thing you are doing here. I play in a band where all the money we make goes to buy guitars for kids that want to learn to play but don't have a guitar. Don't count me in for this because I don't really have a use for it. Just wanted to tell you I think this is cool.

So, with whyseye back in, and dang donkey, that's all 12.

I'll check later today, and if no one has dropped out, I'll close this thread and start working on the poll thread. In the poll thread, I'll be asking you 12 to make a post describing why everyone should vote for you to get the DMP3. Unfortunately, I don't think I can prevent people from voting until all 12 have posted (I will urge them to not vote until then, but the poll will be open), so I guess it will be a good idea to post early, if you can.

And, to set expectations, I'm leaving for the UK tomorrow, and won't be back until the following weekend, so I can't ship before probably the Monday after that, so I plan to leave the poll thread open for a while.

a lot of pressure. i feel like i have to develop some sort of plan...

i think each candidate should be able to make one plea post, that's it. otherwise, it's probably just going to the person who was the most time to post continuously and strengthen their case over and over.

erockrazor - rats - you're unlucky #13. I'll check back at about 2PM Central US time today, and finalize the list.

And, actually, how many of you 12 are in Europe? I'm in London next week, so I just realized I can probably bring the DMP3 with me (without the original box, which is bulky), and end the poll in the middle of next week. Then, if the winner is in Europe, I can scrounge up a box and ship from there, otherwise, bring it back and ship from Texas.

edit: the one post per candidate rule makes sense -- and I guess the normal editing timeouts would apply?

Great. Is it based on any criteria? If so, maybe like the Miss America type of speach. I will go first:

I would love to win the DMP3 because I believe in America and all the apple pie one can have here. I also would clean up the environment and create jobs for every American. I wish the world would come together and hold hands. A chicken in every pot and pot in every American. I believe in the believers and try to persuade the non-belivers in believing.
