tabnak-
sorry- your good intentions are noteworthy, but i don't think tss DOES understand he is wrong! the almost violent attitude displayed is not the kind of attitude you see from someone who feels badly about their actions.
yes, napster can be considered stealing, but we all KNOW about your thievery without any question- but you blatantly call "ALL"
of us hypocrites because you have been CAUGHT, NOT BECAUSE YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ANY OF US.
SOFTWARE PIRACY IS ONE OF THE REASONS HARDWORKING POOR MUSICIANS CANNOT AFFORD TO GET THE BEST ON THE MARKET. IT DRIVES THE PRICE UP.
BEFORE YOU GO FINGERPOINTING AT PEOPLE YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT, THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE OWN ATTITUDE TELLS YOU ABOUT YOURSELF.

 Uh oh , sounds like this thread is headed toward the Dragon Cave.

I'll just add this - yes, Napster is stealing. Which is why I don't use Napster.

And NO I'm not awash in $$$$$, but when I find something I like I buy it.

OH Yeah! Beat This Dude............

PERSONALLY I think that listening to the radio is stealing...especially if you change the channels during commercials.....which is why I always listen to the commercials so I can sleep with a clean conscience....that and the fact I just might the most morally upright person on the planet...and i have need to be incredibly sanctimonious from time to time.

personally I think this is fucking hilarious, Im glad your shitty ass site got shut down

Any of you industry veterans or lawyers out there can correct me, but I believe every time a radio station plays a song they pay a royalty fee for it. Not much, but it adds up. So they pay to play.

Napster on the other hand are the gettaway driver for out-and-out theft. Seems like a clear distinction to me.

But this really doesn't belong in the Cakewalk forum, I say argue about Napster in the Dragon Cave. And hope Cakewalk sells enough software to stay in business.

how about this one?

Do I owe somebody for all of the godawful times that i had to play ......fill in the blank?..........Intellectual Property is an oxymoron. Digital technology will annihilate the recording "industry" and hopefully take a few lawyers along with it. As a muscian it seems to me that all players and writers are to a certain extent thieves....or do musical ideas fall out of the sky or spontaneously burst from the heads of people like Don Henly. The ironic part is that the only music these days that even sounds remotely original is based on samples of other peoples music.....right now some kid/nerd is coding the next napster like app and all the lawyers guns and money the "industry" can muster is not going to stop it. In the words of (possibly Chairman Mao) " let thousand flowers bloom!" When every muscian has access to the tools of recording and distribution that the "Industry" has perhaps we will return to the kind of diversity that existed musically before the age big corporate media that seems content to keep feeding us Britanny, Shania, Madonna, et. al.
My 2 cents
