Freakiest Pick Grip?

K...we did the ugliest hands thing but what about the wierdest pick grip?

EVH does a little somthin strange ice pick thing I call it when he get into his speed riffing. John Petrucci does this weird little third finger "cross-over" when he gets jammin'.

Anyone else? Unusual pick holds...bring 'em.
 
This ones easy......George Lynch holds the pick real strange......pointy end facing back towards the bridge. I used to hold it like that (at 17 in the 80's....who didn't want to be George Lynch...) but learned later on that holding it the proper way made the stuff I played cleaner sounding.

That reminds me of something. I had seen this picture of Hendrix, it looked like he was coming at the strings from underneath. Most of his hand was below the strings, and he was kind of reaching back up towards them with his pick. I didn't think about it til I saw EVH doing the same thing.

Vernon Reid of Living Color does this same thing I think. Must be murder on the wrist...

I've seen Santana do this too...almost like he's pulling the string away from the pups
 
I do this thing where I grip it with my butt cheeks. It takes a lot of control but once mastered, you can really play some shit!


In all seriousness, the weirdest I have seen in person was a one armed guitarist who did everything with hammer ons and pull offs. It was crazy
