Hey, that's great news. Glad to hear it: what really matters is that whatever gear you get works with whatever working style you have (or want to cultivate). It's very important that the gear be a tool for your creativity, and that you not end up with your creativity being a slave to the tools you have!

I got my AC2496 installed this weekend, and have my 1624 able to track 16 at a time, all slaved to Cubase as well. *Sweet*. I was having a grand old time last night, flying tracks up and down, chopping stuff up, and just generally making a mess.

It surely does feel good when a plan comes together, doesn't it? Enjoy your rig- glad I could help a little bit...
 
You helped out immensly

on the contrary you helped out immensly, the D1624 was up my alley until you notified me of the (8) ghost track potential.

Honestly, I was sidetracked, I was really thinking of VIRTUAL
virtural tracks, not ghost, I was so overwhelmed with making the decision I was thinking of the wrong thing.

Now that I have the MDR I have 8 virtual tracks each track that's 192 tracks (virtual) they always help out on stacking vocals.
