Fostex G16S recorder

Hey friends,
As I continue my search for info on
16 track 1" analog reel to reel recorders
can I ask if anyone has had any experience
with the Fostex G16S machine?
Any feel for what a used unit would be worth in today's market?
Any chronic problems worth mentioning?

first off the G16 is 1/2" not 1"... its big brother the G24S is however 1" and as its name goes 24 track, grrrr. thats sexy.

Yeah, duh...I lost my head. Sorry, my mistake.
As much as I would love to have 24-track
recording in my home studio, I'm afraid it's
way out of my budget. The 16-track jump is
pretty substantial for me already.
Any idea how the Fostex G16S and the Tascam MSR-16 might compare in features,
function and general quality? Thanks for taking the time to respond!
