Fostex E-22 Left-Right-Cue Question

Hi,

When I record onto my Fostex E-22 1/2" master deck am I supposed to record onto Left, Right, and Cue all at the same time? If not, and I am only supposed to record onto Left and Right, then does this mean that I am only recording on 2/3rd's of the 1/2" tape....Cue being the other 1/3? If this is so, how would I use the whole 1/2" of the tape just for Left and Right?

Thanks

The Cue track is just a narrow band sandwiched between the two audio tracks, whatever the regular gap would be, not a full 1/3 of the tape. You may, but don't necessarily need to record the Cue track simultaneously as the others, and btw it's just for timecode, not audio.;)

What's put on there as a Cue (center timecode) track would otherwise be non-used inter-track-gap space anyway, so don't fret!;)
