Fostex A8 screeching like 'heck' after return'd to 0 (rewinding)

Does anyone know if the Fostex A8 multitrack deck has oil tubes or lubrication points on the reels? After a few minutes of recording, my deck comes to grinding screeching halt when I rewind it then stop. I did adjust the brake springs according to the service manual but it stills screeches. It all works, plays, and records fine.

I got a box of tapes off eBay - Ampex 641? the guy that sold them said they were for Fostex machines. Back in 'the day' I used Ampex 456 studio master on the
same type of machine (model 80) Should I try different tape? - Lance
 
Yes, try some brand new tape as your ebay stuff is likely suffering from sticky shed syndrome. IE; older tape stock where the binder glue that holds the oxide to the tape has gone gooey and is causing your problem. Another sign of this condition is if your heads are getting dirty abnormally quickly.
