I am looking for a free copy of the user manual for fostex 280 . I don`t want to buy it from fostex.com, they don`t have free copy to download

Why would you expect them to have free downloads when they charge for extra copies of their manuals....????

duh...

because the cost of writing the manual is a sunk cost. The money they charge for a manual should be postage and paper since the products they sell are electronics. They are not a publishing company. So if you download a manual, they do not pay for paper or postage. Therefore it should cost you no money.

How is that blue bear?

It's sellable "product" because there's a used market that needs it.... the fact that it's a by-product of other products they sell really doesn't enter into it..........

Once again, fair business practice....

This is not really different than a recording studio charging separately for recording media.... the argument "...you're not in the recording media production business should you shouldn't be charging for it..." makes no sense........!

you are right but .....Try to find any manual from Yamaha or Roland...it`s very easy and free.

So what???? 3 different companies, 3 different business policies......

Roland and Yamaha are much bigger companies than Fostex - they obviously don't feel that there's enough profit from selling manuals.

Fostex, being a much smaller scale company (relatively), obviously has different profit scales to live within.......
