Hi, I'm am going to be mixing a recording I recently did and want to run a Lexicon LXP-1 and maybe some other effects into the board to use with certain tracks. Does anyone know this board well enough to help me? Thanks!

Effects for 1240

csunshine,

I'm not familiar with the 1240 but, do you have any insert jacks on that thing? If so, let me know. They can be used for effects.

There is a 1/4 in. insert on each channel, next to a 1/4 in. input.

Thanks for the help,

adam

csunshine,

Are you familiar with insert jacks? If not, you can use a 1/4" Y cable that has 1/4" stereo to 2 1/4" mono jacks. The stereo end goes into the insert jack and the monos go into your effect input and out put jacks. Usually the red jack is input but, if you are not sure how your insert jack is wired, just try it both ways.
Good Luck

Thanks for the help Bruce..I can see how that will work...
But what if I want to use the effect on more than one channel?

More than 1 channel

csunshine,

There are only 2 ways that I am aware of. Use a BUSS recording mode if you have the capability on your recorder. You can assign the effect to various channels. Or, run a mixer before your recorder that will aloow you to use effects on all channels or assignable channels. Do you have BUSS mode on your recorder?
