forum rule

Hi, I'm fairly new here and I think this site is just great. I registered mainly to help my sons who are new to home recording, but now they want their own user ID so they can participate. I read the rule about having more than one user ID even with a different email address, and I can see why that rule is in place. So can other members of a family with the same IP address have separate user ID's here? I didn't want them to sign up until I asked, since the same computer or IP address that we'd be using might look like multiple ID's for the same user. Hope I'm asking this in the right section of the forum.

As far as I know this is possible.... people who get banned for anti-social behaviour in certain of the forums manage to pop back up with alarming regularity as "aliases".... presumably from the same IP address.
 
The mods don't look at IP addresses unless a user does something that brings themselves to the mods' attention. No problem having multiple users from the same house.... we're all like family anyways... a weird dysfunctional family, but a family nonetheless. :D

JFTR: Since most of us have what are known as "dynamic" IP addresses, there is no guarantee that we will have the same IP address from one day to the next...

This was a concern of mine as of just recently.
One of my sons and one of my daughters were expressing interest in joining and I thought that just maybe they could for they read here at HR a lot.
Then I get all of the questions about the cave and all and I tell them that is for adults only but I do show them things that are family friendly from there - like the cats playing football that KC posted this past super bowl Sunday.

But then they ask who is this Greg_L character ......... I have no answer for them. :D

if you were concerned, as I would as a parent, you could ask that the admin block the user name from the forum...Im sure you can be effectively banned from certain parts of the BBS, I know its happened to me before :D

Can you make sure their user names are moresoundsson and moresoundsdaughter and give them cute little child alien avatars so we know to be nice to them? :D

Hey, where's the cats video... wouldn't mind seeing that... I'm a bit wary of the cave seeing you can no longer tell if there are pics in threads and I stumbled across kc's bitchslap gif at work accidentally.... thanks kc! :o

I was kinda pulling for "SpawnofMoresound1" and "SpawnofMoresound2"!
 
Fortunately I keep all of my children numbered for just such an occasion. :D 1 through 7
