I've just purchased a Forte Media 801 soundcard on recommendation by my computer dealer. He sold it to me on the premise that it had OK quality pre-amps in it and it could be used for noise free recording. There is still some noise (although not as much as the SB16), I'm pretty sure it's not the leads and it's definitly not the AKAI DPS12 I'm mastering from. Any ideas apart from buying the SoundBlaster Platinum with the Live Drive digital input?
