Formating

I wanted to know if there was a specific format to recording. Like MP3, WAV, FLAC, APE. And in what bit rate as well. Also what format should they be in if I want to sell the music both digitally and hard carbon copy.

If you are producing a CD, WAV files are used.

For sending material over the web, MP3s are most common.

For the actual recording use Wav files as they are uncompressed and have the best quality , after you have recorded and mixed and mastered the recording then you can convert them to MP3 or whatever format you choose ....
