first some introductiontext by SSL: By default, the Alpha Channel's internal clock runs at 44.1kHz, with a 24-bit converter resolution. Any clocking has to be done via the digital input, as there is no separate word clock input, and some users may question this design feature. However, if sync'ed to an external digital source, the unit will operate at sample rates in excess of 96kHz (32Khz to 108kHz).
I recently bought a ssl alpha channel and other studio equipment, but I try to get it work with my soundcard, soundcard as clock (96khz) to the spdif input of the ssl alpha channel, to make it work at 96khz, and then spdif output of the alpha channel to the spdif input of the soundcard. But this does not work for my soundcard. Can you recommend soundcards (under 400 euro) that work perfectly together with the alpha channel as a clock and as a recording device?
So is there a soundcard and interface (under 400 euro) that can record the digital signal comming from the ssl and output a digital signal to sync it to 96khz? I already tried the m-audio audiophile and the edirol ua25, they don't seem to work!
thanks & regards,
