I''m sure most of us have at least HEARD OF the groundbreaking musical contributions bestowed upon mankind from such "Artists" as Leonard Nimoy, William Shattner and Pat Boone...

I'm not sure who thought those records would be a good idea, but I suspect some fast talking or a bit of very serious deep toking may have been behind it.

With that in mind, who would YOU pick to cover a song that would make the world a far funkier place?

I'll start off with these:
The Ramones doing Handel's "Messiah"
Jackie Mason doing "Shout" from the Isley Brothers.
John Tesh doing "Anarchy in the U.K."

What say you?

The Police (or at least Sting...) doing Public Enemy's "911 is a Joke."

Mariah Carey doing Motorhead's "Ace of Spades."

Korn doing "She Bop" by Cyndi Lauper....

Melissa Etheridge - Crue's "Girls, Girls, Girls".

Luciano Pavarotti - Joe Tex's "I Got Ya".

Metallica - Leo Sayer's "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing."

Alison Krauss & Union Station - AC-DC's "Highway to Hell".

Dolly Parton - Queensryche's "Silent Lucidity".

I'll stop now...

You've met and exceeded any and all expectations of weirdness Daf. :)

(You put Pavarotti doing "Brickhouse" on that record and it's going multi-Platinum overnight!! )

P.S. Dolly Parton doing Silent Lucidity doesn't belong on this list... It's fucking brilliant!!!

Tiny Tim covering Stairway To Heaven............

oh shit.......................too late :D

I wanna hear James Brown covering "Lose Yourself" by Eminem!

Maybe Al and Tipper Gore doing "The Real Slim Shady" as well.

Digeridoo?

How about Rolf Harris doing Stairway To Heaven?

Or some boy band covering a Meatloaf song - hilarious!

LOL

You guys are cracking me up. :)

Gomer Pyle (Jim Neighbors???) doing "Brown Sugar" for sure! How about inaddition to that he also does:
"Oh Mickey" - Toni Basil
"Heat of the moment" - Asia?

Who could really take "Baby got back" to a new place?
William Shattner?
Kenny Rogers?
Art Garfunkle?

Or?????

Tom Arnold.

Though he claims NOW that he didn't like 'em...

Ok, Which is scarier?

Abe Vagota - "Close to you" - The Carpenters (Burt B.??)

Donny & Marie - "You're the one that I want" - Grease

Gotta be Abe, unless you're taking the incest factor into account...

...in which case Frank & Nancy's "Something Stupid", Nat and Natalie's "Unforgettable", and ESPECIALLY Bea Arthur and her TV mom's Golden Girls rendition of "I Got You Babe" (lesbian geriatric incest? Ewww!!!) were all even scarier.

GNR - Love to Love Ya Baby
Cream - Boogie Oogie Oogie
Shabba Ranks - Close to the Edge
Aerosmith - I Enjoy Being a Girl (you KNOW Steven does...)
Ozzy - The Candy Man (Who can take a sunrise?)
Billy Ray Cyrus - Chelsea Morning
Devo - He Stopped Loving Her Today

I could go on...:D

Picture within your mind: Ronald Raegen saying, "Wellllll, I've
given that some serious thought, and I sure would like to hear
that young and coming up guy, OnTheBlackRock, singin' a version of "Folsum Prison" by Johnny Cash."
"Too bad though- no marshalls allowed in cells. I'm president,
and all the wardens report to me".
