Sam Ash is having 1 of those "INVENTORY CLOSE-OUT"
sales. Experience has told me that that usually means
that is the time when Sammy's salespeoples usually screw-up the re-pricing and reduction of gear by up to 70%! For example, at the NY location I visited this afternoon,they had the Lex MPC priced @ $279.99 (I would have bought it,but I got enuff signal processors and it goes for $399) They also had the Avalon VT747SP
which normally sells for 2200.00 priced @ 1799.00 ( And no, it was brand new in the box; no demo)!
They even had Neumann U87's on sale for $150.00
BRAND NEW!!!!!!!.............................(You Wish ! )
SO if you are lookin for practical steals on gear, check out the nearest Sammy's near you!
(I already "BORROWED" $650 from our mortgage money to satisfy my gear addiction : ))!

Sam Ash sends me notices of all their sales, and I try to stay away from the store on these weekends because our store (King of Prussia, PA) is always too crowded (with Gear Junkies, I guess) for my tastes. Since October, the only purchases I've made there (besides using their nice Guitar luthier for my acoustic set-ups) have been my Delta 44 (back in October) and a pop-filter a few weeks ago. I prefer to use Mercenary Audio for my gear purchases (not that I can afford most of what they carry!)

You know what I like about Mr.Q. ? He's one of the only guys with recording experience that doesn't give you that "it's the engineer, not the gear" speech. His philosophy is more along the lines of "shop till you drop".

Flat broke is it... I'm trying to find an Aphex 107 OR 1100(yeah right) and a Lucid a/d converter. PLenty of regular priced stuff out there, would love to find used/sale. .....sigh.....
