For any students out there interested in purchasing E-MU

After recent discussion of E-MU and their products, i checked out the 1220M and it looks pretty sweet. I'll admit that even though i'm an m-audio guy, the 1220M looks like it smokes the delta 1010 and is 100 bucks cheaper. I emailed E-MU to inquire about a student discount and this is what they said:

Yes we do have an Educational Discount Program for you.

The Student Discount is 10% off Estimated Street Price of: $499.99.

Your price would be :$449.99

You would need to call in your order to me to receive this discount.

You would also need to provide documentation, such as student ID, School
Name, etc. in order to receive the discount.

$449? I think that is quite reasonable for such a capable card...

ARGH! And I bought an 1820 non-M just a few months ago. :\ Well, now it's just encouraging me to grab one for my second music workstation now...

my original email to them was along the lines of creative offering student discounts on studica.com as well as competators such as m-audio. i asked why they didn't. I guess the squeaky wheel gets greased.... i'm gonna ask for student discounts everywhere now... I wonder how cheep i can get a McGriddle tomorrow morning...
