I'm currently running SONAR 5.01 and a Mackie MCU. I'm using both of the MCU footswitch inputs (1 for Record and the other for Stop). I would like to add just a couple more foot switchs for more transport control like play and delete (control-Z)...nothing elaborate. I've done a little searching of the web and come up with a few devices which seem to be more geared towards Vamp and POD type controllers...nothing specifically for DAW control. Any suggestions?

Thanks

As far as I know, the best bang for the buck in that catagory is indeed the Behringer FCB1010. It recieves and sends midi, has programmable patch, 99 I think and twp expression pedals. Metal housing, plastic everywhere else. All for around $140 US.

Thanks Mike,

Yea...that's one of the units I was looking at. Seems a bit over-kill for my needs but the price is nice.

Anyone using the FBC1010 for this application? I don't need to control and virtual amps or modellers...just transport functions.

I've got an FCB1010 that I've used for exactly the same purpose. It's great for transport and punch-in/punch-out type of stuff. Let's say you're on guitar and want to do multiple takes of the same stretch. Just set Sonar into whatever that mode is called that records each new take on it's own track. Set one of the footswitch buttons to go back to the last marker, one to start recording, and another to stop. Instead of having to go over to the pc after each take and reset everything, it's just step (record), play, step (stop), step (rewind), step (record), play, step (stop), etc...

Thanks! Exactly what I was hoping to hear. The FBC1010 seems like such a good buy and you're using it the way I was hoping.

Gonna have one on order this week! Thanks.
