Road
man.

money is tight

right

what once was cheep is now out of sight

a burger is what i need to keep me straight
but damn a 20 dollar bill is over my head

stay home
watch tv
and even that costs a pretty penny
stare at the smudged wall where the kids used to hang on
and the spot on the step where she dropped the spaghetti plate
and the cob webs in the corner
the note she left before she said hello to her new life
the thought of her happy warms me on this cold October night
the orange sky taunts me like a wax harmonica
i still taste the fruit
in my memories of free wandering in the dying daylight
night bugs approach me as if i was a burger
i know they need to procreate
and maybe now that is my role
food for the bug
ok let it be.

I notice you regularly post your lyrics. And they rarely get any comments or replies.
You might get more of a response if you actually posted the actual song. Speaking personally, lyrics on their lonesome almost never touch me. I dig lyrics, but only in the context of the song that they are part of. Coax me in with the song and I'll notice the lyrics.
Lyrics are like poetry for me, and I'm just not into poetry.

Grim traveler

..

unraveler

asked to be coaxed.

Coax me

Don't choke me

I'm not into the poetry

the lonesome home
is it the end?

you tell me

long walking friend.

words don't touch me without song

do i need a hit off the bong?

you tell me long walking friend.
