Hey it's me Tukkis again

This is a song I recorded with the band I'm in
It's a cover of the great Foo Fighters song Monkey Wrench

As usual please give your opinions

Thanks
Tukkis

Impressive.

The only detracting aspect was the sampled drums.. live drums would have really brought out the best in this cover... but I'm sure the use of samples was only the result of necessity. (just like with the rest of us... :p)

But a very solid cover. The vocalist is good and the guitars are tight... good form.

(I like the way he does the "yelling" part... and LOL.. nice pan on the last yell... maybe a little overdone, but definitely fun.. :p)

Good mix too.

WATYF

Cool cover dude.I agree with watyf about the drums.Real drums would send this one over the top.Guitars sound really cool and the vocals are killer. This is one of my favorite Foo Fighter songs.

Nice job Tukkis.

Sounds real good!

Nice tight playing,and good vocals.

Mix is very big, nice and clear.
Fine job all around.

Best to you,
Pete

Thanks guys for honest replies

I agree that real drums would sound alot better but I curently don't have the resources to record real drums

Thanks again
Tukkis

Do you have the resources to reciprocate the comments, ear and advice you get on your tunes?

Just wondering,

Theron.

Ah ha, a cover song of the best rock all rounder in the world - Dave Grohl. Im a huuuuuge Grohl fan. I had to hear this. Pretty well done mate. Singing and playing are good. And seeing as its a drum machine or fruity loops (I suspect) you may just want to bring the kick up a bit. Guitars sound good.
My recomendations
1. Turn down the vocal just a bit. To let the bad take over a bit more.
2. more kick and cymbols.
3.More (just a bit) bass guitar.

Scott Tansley...

Thanks for the advice Scott, I'll try what you said

theron, can you please rephrase your question

Thanks
Tukkis

I listened to this song...loud. Really good cover.

I'd like to preface this next statement with the following disclaimer:

I HAVE NEVER POSTED THE FOLLOWING "ADVICE" BEFORE:

Turn vox down a notch.
Gimme' more lows...Listen to it loud, REALLY LOUD, and you'll see what I mean.

END OF ADVICE.

Great cover,
-chris

chris

i've turned the vox down now. when you say more lows do you mean the whole mix or a particular instrument

Thanks
Tukki

You've obvious talent in music and recording. I was asking if you wouldn't mind sharing your ear by commenting on other projects with a more balanced tenacity with which you administer your own threads.......
You've a sound ear and recording sensibility. Share it by checking out others tunes and laying down the goods;) :D

Hope that clears it up for you.

Peace,

Theron.

yeh I get you now

I will certainly try from now on to comment about others music
sorry I've been slack

Thanks and keep rockin
Tukkis

Tuk - Did you change something?

I was talking about the whole mix...but I'm listening again now, and it sounds better to me. Maybe I just needed a break. Or maybe you pulled the vox down some so that I could turn it up even LOUDER and get that warm, fuzzy glow I was missing earlier.

Sounds damned good. Don't listen to me, I'm medicated.

sounds good to me....with the exception...(and I was swimming with the dog all day in the lake..so the ears are water-logged)....I couldn't hear (or feel) any significant low end to the mix. I could make out the bass....but it just seemed overwhelmed by the midrangy guitars. Drums where way back there. Let me just rephrase everything...the guitars are too loud, imo. nice scream at 3:00...that I'm sure others will like.

what the H does tukkis mean...eh? besides a name...

Hey all,

I'm the "singer" on this song. Tukkis has really come a long way in the last few months. I enjoyed singing this song.

Scott - i am also a huge fan of Dave Grohl. He has such a unique style of singing - the way he can go from an all out yell to normal singing so easily.
I tried to get a similar sound but it is so hard! Would anybody out there have some tips for a better singing sound????
Anyhow i'm glad you fellas liked the stuff we did.
I was a bit hesistant about the yell - couldnt speak very well for a few hrs after - hehehe

Well thanks for the listen guys - cya later.

yiordanaki,

You do know Grohl tracked that long screaming part in several passes, right? His lungs just aren't that big... LOL

Very noticeable that the phrase "all the SH*T that somehow came along with it" changed to "all the BITS that somehow came along with it". Ya gotta keep it P.G. for the folks, I guess...
:)

Nice cover BTW. Some mix and performance issues, but pretty dang good. F.F. are one of my faves.

ENERGY, ENERGY & ENERGY

COOL TUNE

Great LEAD VOX !!!

LOVE THE HOOK

I'm impressed. Pretty good sound on the guitar. It just needs a little push in the lower end (God, that sounds disgusting).
