Focusrite Saffire driver problems...

Has anyone had trouble installing the 2.0 drivers from the Focusrite website? My Saffire worked fine until I tried to install those... my computer wouldnt even recognize it anymore. Anytime I tried to reinstall the old drivers , the CD still wouldnt recognize the Saffire or finish the installation. Windows says it finds the Saffire and it has been installed successfully but the CD hangs on "please connect your saffire to this system" and after a few minutes it says IEEE 1394 driver installation failed.. I uninstalled and reinstalled my firewire card to make sure that my computer wasn't the problem. I just exchanged my Saffire for another one but haven't had a chance to try it out yet since I am at work. Anyone else had this problem? I am using winxp sp2 amd 64 3200+ 1GB ram.

You might look into the control panel and completely remove the hardware. Also go into the computer hardware settings and delete it. Then reinstall as if from scratch.

Before you go that way, in XP, I'm pretty sure there's a "roll-back" driver option. Control panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Find your card -> Driver -> Roll Back Driver

Focusrite Sapphire 40

I tried using the new 2.2 Mix Control in Sonar 8.5.3 and Sonar X1, but crshes all the way. I went back to 2.0 mix control and back to normality.
Using Windows 7 64 Ultimate, with AMD quad core 3200x4. and 8 gig ram.
