Hello everybody I'm new to this forum and searched for something to help me on this but not much came up.

I just purchased the focusrite ISA 220 and was trying to record this weekend but I experienced alot of buzz when trying to record my bass straight in, the tone was terrible. I couldn't make it warm enough through without buzzing to even make a difference. I found better tones with my sans amp into the digi. I also tried it with my new rode nt-2000's and the same problem occurred. Am I supposed to bypass the digi's preamps or is there something I'm missing.

Go to Digidesign.com, click on support, then go to their forum (User Conference). Almost everything/anything you need to find out awaits you there -- with and without sarcasm (it exists in every forum).

There's two buttons on the front panel above the gain knob for channels 1-4, the one on the left selects between mic and line signals. I think "not depressed" is the line selection, which is what you want. Alternatively, you can plug into channels 5-8 like Amped said, they are always line, and you save 1-4 in case you need more pre's
Hope this helps.
