Anyone familiar with Foambymail.com

Seems like the sound ratings arent to bad compared to Auralex and they are half the price.

Seems like they have Bass Traps and most panels you would need in various thickness.

Anyone had any experience with them?

I saw reviews on Auralex products from Musiciansfriend.com.

Someone recommended the Foambymail.com because it was cheaper and worked great.

Other reviewers read that and posted saying it wasnt any good and to stick to Auralex.

Of course for every good review there is always a bad review because half the people out there have never really tried things or they are so fixed on their own feelings that they arent open to anything else.

People will argue for days that one is better than the other.

Mercedes is nice, but Im fine with a Kia.

All I care is whether it does the job.

If I can treat my whole mixing room for $300 instead of $600 I am all for it.

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks.

Yeah, but they lied and made up the data! The graph below shows test data comparing FBM corners to LENRDs, and you can clearly see they are not even close let alone equal. This graph also shows how both brands compare to the "real" bass traps my company manufactures. D

Thats some great info.

Greatly appreciated.

I will look into those other products.

wow! that's nuts. the foambymail and lenrd don't even come close. looks like neither of them do anything useful below 125Hz. (well, actually the foambymail doesn't seem to do anything useful at all.)

Exactly.

They also go by a couple other names on eBay like Foam Factory (can't remember the other one).

Should be a dead tip-off when anybody uses terms like 'sound proofing foam'.

Agreed. Not nearly as useful as Auralex (or 703/mineralwool for that matter). It does help tame a room a little bit, but maybe half as well as the actual auralex foam. And it is harder to work with because it is much flimsier. And I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to crumbling within a few years. So the FBM really isn't a great deal. And I sell no competing products. ;)
