So another stab at recording off to a frustrating start. I want to try out midi. I dont have much in the way of plugins, but FL Studio is one of 'em. I add a midi track, load FL in the sequencer. When I bring up the virtual keyboard, I can play what sounds like the 'flanged effect'. I am unable to change instruments though. I open 'settings' and the little FL box opens up, allowing me to access FL Studio, but i CANNOT figure out how to change the instruments....no amount of online searching has yielded an answer.
