Hey all,

This is my first attempt at recording soley with my PC. It is a short, boring and lame loop that I arranged using some samples and the Cubasis VST project pack. I hooked up the soundcard SPDIF out directly to my stand alone CD burner, so I didn't get the volume where I wanted it, and after hearing it, I should have gone into my digital mixer to fix some things... Oh well! This is just a quickie I was doing to get familiar with the program(s). It is by no means a finished thing, just an experiment. I knew this technology existed, but it is the first time I have used it - you don't have to be a musician anymore to make music! I don't know if I like that, but it is the way of the world, I guess.

Anyhow, if you care to take a listen, it is called "No Manos" and it is at:

If you hear or read something I have done wrong (with regard to using the computer) let me know. Any tips are appreciated!

Nice groove, Brad....leaves you wanting more though.....cant hear nothin major wrong...the feels a slight bit heavy, but im listening on headphones so......

have you ever thought of doing porno soundtracks?......Im not talking about those home movies you do, like mainstream porno.....

Thanks for listening Gidge! There will be more, lots more. This was the first thing that I got to come out of my PC and I was too impressed by the ease of the loops, I just had to burn something fast!

I have approached many porno producers about doing the soundtracks, but they always turn me down, saying something like "We can't waste your time having you score the movie. Since you are the star, we want you to concentrate only on your acting"
:D

Damn, I didnt know you waz in the porno biz....If there is ever a need for a stunt cock on the set, gimme a holla...I have learned to withstand emmence amounts of penile torture, ever since I was robbed of my foreskin....

This is pretty nice brad. It's not all be pre-fab samples is it?

There's no difference between a computer and a standalone recorder when it comes to right and wrong. I mean it either sounds good or it doesn't. So I don't think you did anything wrong at all.

About the recording itself I'd say that it doesn't have any bottom. I can hear a bass but it's not dropping down into the low range far enough.

Otherwise, this sounds good like all of your shit has so far!

Hey Slack,
Thanks for listening and commenting! Yes, they are all pre-fab samples! Isn't that disgusting!? I have this sample loop CD with little parts and all you have to do is arrange them so they sound decent together - that is what I meant when I said that you don't have to be a musician anymore. It is kind of scary.

As far as the no bass prob, I must have over compensated using the EQ in my mp3 converter - I thought what I recorded straight out of the computer sounded like it had way too much low end, so when I converted it, I tried to cut some of that.

Again, thanks for the kind words. :)
