This is the first track where I used a loop from an outside source (not made by me) in a track. It's the organ riff you hear in the very beginning of the track. This is one of the experimentations I've been doing recently, I'm trying to develop a more diverse production approach. I'll post more soon.

BTW, there is a little bit of noise in the sample that I didn't notice until after uploading.

The track is called "Buffalonian Bounce".

NOTICE: I used a different encoder to make this mp3 using VBR and it seems to have some compatibility issues. MediaPlayer will not play the file, but Real Player will. If you selected Media Player as your Player on Nowhere, you can change at the top of the screen when it says Change Player.

Yo stray.

You need 2 set the track up 2 play. There's no button!

Abyyss,

I turned the track off because I was getting way too many listens and no replies here or on ther other MB I posted this on. Multiple listens by the same IPs too, which worries me. Didn't realize until just recently that stream recorders can record streams at very high quality. I'm not game to be giving my tracks away for free, especially to people I don't know.

I'll make this one active for today if you want to give it a listen. I moved it to my beats page and activated the other 3 tracks I had there as well. I'm taking the page down tonight. Use this link not the one in my initial post.

FYI, MediaPlayer will play the file now.

I like it.

It works well + I really like the way the thing builds up from the start.

Definately different from your usual.

stray411 - Man that James Bond piece is all that!! Great all the way around!

Also, I like the clean up job on the last piece. I'm just starting out and appreciate the chance to hear it done right.

If you get the chance, go to my post in computer recordings, I would like you opinion on my questions.

Thanks Abyyss. I find it interesting trying out new things, it leads to new ideas, new creativity. This is just my first, hopefully I'll be chopping 'em up like Raticus after some trial and error.

BeatDaddy, thanks for the listen and comment on the JBRemix. That's a far cry from what I usually do stylistically so it's good to get feedback on it. Did you check out "Buffalonian Bounce" on my beats page?

Here it is.

Thanks again fellas.

I'm digging...Really clubby... Almost Timboish...

Not really my style but I think I could fuck with something like this track. It'd be some grim in th way i'd have to approach it though. Could work on the drums and sound choices. Not really feeling the reverb depth of some of the sounds. Makes it even more clubby. But I think that's probably more towards what your looking for. Gets ya head ta knodding...

Those drums coming off that ROLAND BASS and DRUM module you got? Was tryin to cop that a few years back but dude wanted 250... I was thinking a bill. What all racks did they come out with? Strings and a Piano I think but you got 4 of em right?b

Nice work Stray... Keep up the good work...

Thanks Lazi. I'm hearing you on the sounds and verbs I used. I don't spend enough time making those choices until I'm actually ready to record the song, but I think I need to change that especially before I ask people to take a listen. Thanks for the constructive criticism.

The kick and snare are samples I made that may have originally came from the MBD-1 but I can't recall. The percussion, hi-hats and cymbals are coming from the Kurzweil ME-1 MicroEnsemble. I do use the MBD-1 kits and basses on a lot of tracks though.

Roland made six of these modules and yes I have four of them:
MBD-1 - Bass and Drum
MSE-1 - String Ensemble
MVS-1 - Vintage Synth
MGS64 - General MIDI
MOC-1 - Orchestra
MDC-1 - Dance (which was discontinued because of copyright infringement).

I don't have the last 2, but I will find them sooner or later. $250 is way too much to ask for the MBD-1, although it is more than worth it. This is my second (sold the first and regretted it) and I got them both for under $150. If you get one you will not be disappointed with the kits or the bass guitars.

BTW, you can get the card with the same soundset for the JV1010. All the modules above are available as expansion cards for the JV/XP series except for Dance, which was dicontinued.

Again, thanks for the listen and comments.

Lazi,

If you want to hear the MBD-1 with very minimal processing and just a bit of verb then check out New Beat 10 at my site. I think it's a fair representation of what you get straight out of the box. Of course compression and proper EQing will make the sounds even better.

just my thoughts

well this one is definatly not my flavor. the sound reminds me of something.......just not sure what, i guess if you like the 60's flavor club beat this is the one for you, not feeling as much as i felt your other beats but everything seems to blend nicely together.

again just my "personal" thoughts on it

keep the beats coming though enjoy checking them

Ldy,

Thanks for the listen and comments. I was trying something different here so I appreciate the feedback.

A question though, what the hell is a 60s flavor club beat? I'm sitting here trying to think of what music they would have played in clubs in the 60s. The Beatles, The Stones, Old Motown? This track sounds like that to you??

Stray

well what i mean

by the 60's club type music is it reminds me of something you might here in an "Austin Powers" movie.......

Peace

Cool, totally unintentional, but still groovy baby yeah :D

Thanks again.

I had to switch to realplayer to get it to work.

Sounds like it be on the Mission Impossible 2003 score. Sounds good but i cant really picture lyrics to it, unless spoken word
