Hi there.
I have been lurking around this site for quite a while (and have learned ALOT) and now have finally mustered up the nerve to post a song for your review. The song is called "Goin' Home". The tech details are-- bass and drums tracks originally notated in Noteworthy Composer before being moved to Cakewalk HS2002 where the additional instruments were added and mixed. Master recording was done in Sonic Sound (Mac) and the mp3 was created by Apple iTunes.
Hope you enjoy it and I welcome any comments (don't spare my feelings).

Ciao for now!

Like someone pointed out to me a while ago, It's not so much fun when all instruments are midi. Try adding a live instrument (sing, play guitar or whatever). Are you using GM sound, from a soundblaster or something? If so, are you converting them to audio and add EQ or something in Cakewalk? If you don't, then you'd better start, cause cutting some mids would help getting rid of some boominess.

Well....

MIDI is fun.

Problem is it's like a video game of making music rather than a sonic adventure.

This is sucking my will to feel.
I mean that in a good way.

MIDI guitars bite cow nuts.

Welcome to homerecording.com!

Yeah kind of a sterile MIDI sound. Lots of different sounds though, and that was cool. At nearly 5 minutes, I could probably have used some more significant changeups during the piece.

I'd say you need to break up the drums. You do a little of that at about 2:30. Buy mostly it's the same sounding loop.

Keep at it.
