Solved First recording attempt

If that's your first recording, all I can say is WOW!
I won't offer any criticism because I don't have the experience to do so. But I will say this. Just keep it up. It really sounds nice.

You have a great voice. Very good recordings for a first try. I have to agree that the distorted sounds suck. I've gotten some good fake distorted sounds from Amplitube software.

Thanks! I am in the process of re-recording these songs. I had NO pre-amp, compressor or Pod. Now with the new equipment I think I will really take my time doing these recordings to see how well I can make it match the original. This time I'm doing 3 tracks for each vocal instead of 2.

I can say so far the DMP3 really warms my voice up.
