My first post since I got Sonar 6. Worked with it a lot, thought I'd throw it out there for ideas of any kind.
Vocals with AT 3035. Singer/songwrier from the jersey state.
Drums, me live with Roland V drums through BFD. My first drum take ever. A bit shaky in places.
Guitars, me through amplitube live. Acoustic rhythm, SG solos and overdubs.
Midi bass and organ in places.

Thanks for any feedback. Brutal honesty welcome. :)

I don't know if you'll regard this as a compliment BUT it's intended as such.
the intro and 1st verse of St Rita has a reall Bat Out Of Hell era Meatloaf vibe to it - structure, vocal, & the build in the chord sequence.
That said the vocal may be a little over compressed and it sounds a tad distant. I quite like it as is mind.
The cascading leads do hint that this'd be a BIG song in the style previously suggested. Might be worth playing with - go all Spector with out the guns.

Hey rayc, thanks for the reply, you know, when you do these you never know how it may seem to others, I never thought of meatloaf while doing it. But I hear what you mean. I'm gonna work with the compression and reupload. Could the distance of the voice also have to do with reverb? That seems to send things to the back I think. Also, what did you mean by " go all Spector with out the guns". I know a bit of his wall of sound. Some would think over produced. Do you mean keep building on it with instruments? And by "without the guns" mean, less guitar solos? Again thanks.

Any other comments more than welcome.

Spector is being prosecuted for murder with a pistol, he also pulled a gun on the ramones amongst other.
Yeah, Build the instrumental backing - that way you can remove anything that doesn't work &/or do 2 types of mixes - stripped and bulked up.
The reverb would def. push the vocals back esp if the vocal & reverb are on the same track.
It's a cool piece of work. Keep what you have but get playful as well to see where it might go. I don't mean replicate Todd rungren's production of Bat just think bigger as the structure has a bigness about it.

Jeez, I'm an idiot, I really need to read the papers now and than. That was a good joke if I was up on current events. :o
Thanks for reply, will do. I like the song itself so its worth more experimentation time.
