hello yall my name is Wade, this is my 1st POST! im a rapper, producer, engineer, investor lol, www.soundclick.com/brokhomz ANAWAYS that being said

this isnt really a problem par ce, but its just wierd and is kind of annoying

ok, im currently using Adobe Audition 1.5 to record my raps. BUT i cant hear my voice thru tha headphones OR monitors in real time and its kinda bugging me!

-my Marshall mic is connected to my Behringer mixer via, MIC INPUT 1.

- MIXER SETTINGS:
1. I have "solo" pressed in for Mic input 1
2. I have nothing pressed down in tha SOURCE area
3. The mode is in "PFL"
4. "Tape to Main" is pressed in
(however i have no idea what this all means or even if its important!)

-Then through 2 seperate audio cords, it goes out of the CONTROL ROOM OUT left and right.

-Then it goes into my Behringer Composer (compressor), the left cord goes in to tha left side and out tha left side. The right cord does tha same but through tha opposite side.

-Then tha 2 cords plug into tha back of my FIREWIRE410 M audio sounds card in LINES 1 and 2.

-and then my firewire is connected to tha computer via Firewire port

-my headphones are plugged into tha front of tha firewire 410 and my computer monitors are plugged into tha back in OUTPUTS 1 and 2

when my mixer, soundcard, compressor, ect is all on and im rapping or whatever, no imput shows up on ADOBE's input meter and i cant hear nothing! yet it records and playsback perfectly.

its kind of annoying cuz i cant really hear what i sound like as im recording and cant adjust tha mic accordingly. So if you know of anything to help i would MUCH appreciate it.

*also my mixer is a Behringer UB1204-fx and seems to have some built in fx on that, but for some reason it doesnt effect my recordings!! HELP!

thanks

uuuh, turn the solo button OFF!! and use the "main out" of the board..that is a start.

Sounds to me like you've got problems with your routing software for the 410m. Do you have options for input monitoring or can you set up your output as a monitor mixer?

Make sure that "Monitor Record Level(s)" is checked. It's under 'Options' or you can just use F10.

um i dont think it monitors my input, only tha output.

and i turned tha solo button off, but i cant go MAIN OUT cuz its in tha MXL (or whatever) format.

and yes i tried pressing F10 but it doesnt even recognize any sound inputs.

I AM SO CONFUSED!

ok somehow i managed to get adobe to recognize tha input of my mic, when i fiddled around with tha mixer (and tha with tha "solo" button pressed in) and i can hear sound coming into tha head phones when i plug em in tha mixer.

but i still cant hear input when i plug them into tha 410 and plus it doesnt monitor tha inputs there either.

plus i still cant figure out how to use tha internal fx on that mixer

thanks for tha time btw

I have a Delta 44 breakoutbox, and use Adobe Audition to record, and have similar difficulties. My only workaround has been to plug my output of the 1 channel I wish to listen to from the BO box, into an input on a Soundblaster usb device, and then I can hear the already recorded stuff in stereo, and what I am playing in mono...just one side. I don't know if this is a feasable option for you, so sorry, no real help.
Ed
